SOME BY MI Super Matcha Pore Tightening Serum 50ml

SOME BY MI Super Matcha Pore Tightening Serum is a watery pore-care serum for oily and combination skin with visible pores and shine. It contains 93% matcha water (Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract), sourced, according to SOME BY MI, from Boseong in South Korea.

How it works

According to SOME BY MI, the serum purifies, tightens and moisturises pores, and its BHA and PHA ingredients dissolve dead skin cells without irritation. In the formula, the BHA comes from willow bark extract and the PHA is lactobionic acid, both listed low down, so the exfoliating effect is mild. Niacinamide is the second ingredient. Centella asiatica and its compounds, tea tree leaf water, sodium hyaluronate and glycerin round out the formula. SOME BY MI describes the texture as watery and refreshing, with no unpleasant stickiness.

Who it suits

Oily and combination skin, including combination skin that is oily in the T-zone and normal elsewhere, as SOME BY MI's retailers list it for combination and oily skin types.

What it will not do

It cannot shrink pores permanently; pore size is largely genetic, and a serum improves only how pores look. It is not an acne treatment, and it will not replace a moisturiser on drier skin.

Good to know

If you also use a salicylic acid product, introduce them one at a time and avoid layering both in the same routine at first. Wear SPF every day. The formula contains fragrance, limonene and linalool, so patch test if your skin is reactive.

1. Cleanse and apply toner.
2. Take a moderate amount (1-2 pumps) into your palms.
3. Smooth it over the whole face and pat gently until absorbed.
4. Follow with moisturiser; in the morning, finish with SPF.
