L'Oréal Professionnel Metal Detox Protecting Mask 250ml

L'Oréal Professionnel Metal Detox Protecting Mask 250ml is a rinse-off anti-metal mask for coloured, bleached, damaged and natural hair that helps protect against breakage and colour shift. It is the second step of the Metal Detox routine, used after the Metal Detox Shampoo.

How it works

L'Oréal Professionnel says metal particles in water, such as copper, can build up in the hair fibre wash after wash and raise the risk of breakage and colour shift. The Metal Detox range uses Glicoamine, a molecule L'Oréal describes as small enough to track and neutralise metal inside the fibre. The mask has a light texture that is easy to apply and needs only one minute. In L'Oréal's instrumental test, the Metal Detox Shampoo and Mask together gave up to 87% less breakage in one use and up to 2x shinier hair, compared with unwashed hair. L'Oréal says the routine promotes longer-lasting colour with a glossy finish.

Who it suits

L'Oréal recommends it for all hair textures: coloured, damaged, bleached and natural hair. Suitable for women and men.

What it will not do

It will not reverse colour that has already shifted or replace a colour correction. The 87% and 2x figures are for the shampoo and mask together. It is a conditioning mask, not a leave-in heat protector.

1. Wash with the Metal Detox Shampoo.
2. Apply the mask to the hair.
3. Leave on for one minute.
4. Rinse thoroughly.
