L'Oréal Professionnel Keratin Alpha Sleek Smooth Transformer 200ml is a weekly, rinse-out smoothing treatment, activated by heat, for any hair type that frizzes or has unwanted volume. It is the key step of the Keratin Alpha Sleek range.

How it works

L'Oréal Professionnel formulates it with a Keratin-alpha shaper and amino-acid chains. You leave it on for 10-15 minutes, rinse, then blow-dry completely or use a flat iron: L'Oréal says the formula is heat-activated, which maximises the smoothing. In L'Oréal's instrumental tests it gave 5x smoother hair and +77% instant shine while preserving hair integrity. In a consumer test after 4 applications on 67 people, hair stayed smooth with frizz and volume controlled for 2 weeks, and L'Oréal says the routine cuts daily styling time in half.

Who it suits

All hair types, natural or coloured, that are frizzy, puffy or slow to blow-dry smooth. It suits anyone who wants a sleeker finish for longer without a salon straightening service. Men and women alike.

What it will not do

It is not a permanent straightener: the effect builds with weekly use and lasts up to around 2 weeks after the routine. It needs heat (a full blow-dry or a flat iron) to work as intended. Some of L'Oréal's results, such as halving daily styling time, come from the full routine Shampoo + Smooth Transformer + Serum, not from this product alone.

Good to know

200ml bottle. Use 30-50g per application depending on hair length and thickness, once a week after shampoo. The formula contains cysteine, ethanolamine and sodium metabisulfite, which are part of the smoothing system, plus coconut oil and silicones. Shake well before use.

1. Use once a week, after shampooing with Keratin Alpha Sleek Shampoo.
2. Shake well before use.
3. Divide the hair into two sections and apply evenly from lengths to ends on each section, using 30-50g depending on hair length and thickness.
4. Leave on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse.
5. Blow-dry completely or use a flat iron: the formula is heat-activated.
6. Finish with Keratin Alpha Sleek Mirror Sleek Serum if you have it. On other wash days, use the Keratin Alpha Sleek mask.
In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately and thoroughly.
