L'Oréal Professionnel Keratin Alpha Sleek Shampoo 300ml is a creamy, sulfate-free smoothing shampoo for any hair type that frizzes or puffs up. It is the cleansing step of the Keratin Alpha Sleek range.

How it works

L'Oréal Professionnel formulates the range with a Keratin-alpha shaper and amino-acid chains. The brand says the shampoo cleanses gently while smoothing and reinforcing the hair's own keratin, softens and hydrates, and gives instant shine with frizz and volume control (instant shine measured in instrumental tests with the shampoo alone). L'Oréal describes it as sulfate-free (no sulfated surfactants), alcohol-free and free from artificial colourants.

Who it suits

All hair types, especially frizzy, unruly or bulky hair, and wavy or curly hair when you want a smoother finish. Men and women alike.

What it will not do

On its own it will not give the 2 weeks of smoothness, frizz and volume control that L'Oréal reports: that result comes from instrumental tests after 4 uses of the routine Shampoo + Smooth Transformer + Serum. It is not a straightening treatment. Keratin is not listed in the ingredients; the name refers to the range's Keratin-alpha shaper technology. It is free from sulfated surfactants but does contain sulfosuccinate and sulfoacetate cleansers.

Good to know

300ml bottle. Contains silicones (amodimethicone, divinyldimethicone/dimethicone copolymer) and two palmitoyl peptides. L'Oréal suggests the Smooth Transformer once a week and the mask on your other wash days.

1. Apply evenly to wet hair.
2. Lather until a rich foam forms, then rinse.
3. Once a week, follow with Keratin Alpha Sleek Smooth Transformer for long-lasting smoothness.
4. On your other wash days, follow with the Keratin Alpha Sleek mask.
In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately and thoroughly.
