Anua Rice Enzyme Brightening Cleansing Powder 40g

Anua Rice Enzyme Brightening Cleansing Powder is a fragrance-free enzyme powder wash for people who want gentle exfoliation and a brighter, smoother-looking complexion. It turns into a foam with water and can also be used as a wash-off mask.

How it works

The dry powder is activated by water. Papain and protease are enzymes that loosen dead surface cells, while rice powder and kaolin add a soft physical polish. Mild cleansing agents (sodium cocoyl isethionate, sodium lauroyl glutamate) lift dirt and oil. According to Anua, alpha-arbutin helps skin look brighter without irritation, and ceramide NP helps the skin keep its moisture barrier so it is not stripped. Anua reports skin texture improved by 20.27% and impurities cleansed by 98.1% after one use.

Who it suits

It suits dull-looking skin, uneven texture and small bumps, and people who like a gentle exfoliating step in their routine. Anua tags it hydrating, gently exfoliating and non-drying.

What it will not do

It will not remove dark spots or pigmentation; brightening here means a more radiant look. It is not a makeup remover and does not replace sunscreen.

Good to know

Keep the bottle dry and pour the powder into wet hands, not the other way round. If your skin is easily irritated, start every other day, as with any exfoliating product. Wear sunscreen during the day when you use exfoliating products.

As a cleanser:
1. Dispense about ½ tablespoon of powder into wet hands.
2. Rub your palms together until the powder dissolves into a foam.
3. Massage gently onto the face, then rinse with lukewarm water.

As a wash-off mask:
1. After cleansing, dispense about 1 tablespoon of powder into dry hands.
2. Add 1 to 1½ tablespoons of water and mix until smooth.
3. Apply evenly and massage for 3-5 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water.
4. For extra hydration, Anua suggests using Rice 70 Glow Milky Toner instead of water.
