SOME BY MI AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner is a mild exfoliating toner for oily, combination and blemish-prone skin with a dull or uneven-looking texture. SOME BY MI combines three types of acid with tea tree leaf water at a skin-friendly pH of 5.5.

How it works

The acids are low-strength: retail listings of the formula give 500ppm citric acid (AHA), 100ppm salicylic acid (BHA) and 100ppm lactobionic acid (PHA). Together they help loosen dead skin cells on the surface and stop excess oil and debris from building up in pores. SOME BY MI states 10,000ppm tea tree leaf water, alongside niacinamide, adenosine, papaya and witch hazel extracts. According to SOME BY MI, the toner helps soothe stressed, visibly reddened skin and refines the look of the skin, with better-looking skin texture after 30 days.

What it will not do

It is a cosmetic, not a medicine: it does not treat acne or any skin condition and will not stop breakouts. Its acid levels are low, so it will not give the results of a professional peel. Scarring and persistent redness need a dermatologist.

Good to know

If your skin is new to acids, start every other day and build up gradually. Wear SPF every day. At first, avoid using it in the same routine as other strong exfoliants or retinoids. It contains peppermint oil; patch test if your skin is reactive and avoid the eye area.

1. Cleanse your face.
2. Apply an appropriate amount to a cotton pad or your palms and smooth it over the face, avoiding the eye area.
3. Gently pat to help absorption.
