L'Oréal Professionnel SteamPod Smoothing Treatment 50ml

L'Oréal Professionnel SteamPod Smoothing Treatment is a heat-activated, leave-in smoothing cream to use before straightening. It is made for the SteamPod steam straightener and, according to L'Oréal Professionnel, works with all straighteners.

How it works

The formula is water-free and silicone-based, enriched with alpha-silane. L'Oréal Professionnel says it protects hair from heat up to 230°C, gives up to 72 hours of visible smoothness without flyaways, and keeps its protective benefits for up to 5 shampoos. The brand also describes a glass-like shine and help against split ends, breakage and brittleness.

Who it suits

Men and women who straighten their hair, especially with SteamPod, and hair that frizzes, puffs up in humidity or feels brittle at the ends.

What it will not do

It is not a permanent or keratin straightening treatment, and it does not straighten hair on its own: you need heat. It is not an oil. It will not repair hair that is already badly broken.

Good to know

Use only 1-2 pumps on washed, towel-dried hair and dry the hair completely before you straighten. Fine hair needs less product. It contains silicones (dimethicone, amodimethicone derivative). The ingredient list can vary by market, so the list on your pack is the final reference.

1. Wash your hair and towel-dry it.
2. Apply 1-2 pumps evenly through the lengths and ends.
3. Do not rinse.
4. Blow-dry until the hair is completely dry.
5. Straighten with SteamPod (recommended by L'Oréal Professionnel) or another straightener.
