L'Oréal Professionnel Absolut Repair Molecular Bi-Phase Oil 90ml

L'Oréal Professionnel Absolut Repair Molecular Bi-Phase Oil 90ml is a two-phase, leave-in repair oil for all types of damaged hair. It is the shine and anti-frizz step of the Absolut Repair Molecular range, used on damp or dry lengths.

How it works

The bottle holds two layers. L'Oréal Professionnel says the water phase carries 1% peptide bonders and five amino acids, while the concentrated oil phase nourishes and smooths. Shaking blends them into fine droplets. In L'Oréal's instrumental tests the oil gave 100 hours of shine, 3-day frizz control, 3x more nutrition with no weigh-down, +97% strength and +83% smoothness, and repaired the equivalent of 2 years of damage at the cuticle level. L'Oréal's FAQ also states heat protection up to 230°C when applied before heat tools.

Who it suits

Damaged hair of any kind: coloured, lightened or natural hair that feels rough, dull or frizzy. It suits fine to thick hair, because the dose is small and it is applied to lengths and ends only.

What it will not do

It does not replace a cut for split ends, and it is not a scalp treatment: keep it away from the roots and scalp. The elasticity and movement results L'Oréal reports come from the full routine (shampoo, rinse-off serum, mask and oil), not from the oil alone. Results depend on the condition of your hair.

Good to know

90ml pump bottle. The fragrance has notes of vanilla, bergamot and salty flower, according to L'Oréal. The formula contains silicones (dimethicone, dimethiconol) and isododecane. Shake until the two layers blend every time you use it.

1. Hold the bottle tightly and shake well until the two layers blend into an even mix of droplets.
2. Pump one to two pumps into your palm (a little more for long or thick hair).
3. Spread evenly through damp or dry hair, avoiding the roots and scalp.
4. Do not rinse. Style as usual.
