Kevin Murphy HEATED.DEFENSE 150ml is a weightless, invisible leave-in foam that protects hair against heated and mechanical styling tools, up to 232°C / 450°F.

How it works

The foam spreads easily through all hair types and reduces damage while conditioning and smoothing. Kevin.Murphy names copolymers, jojoba seed oil and hydrolysed quinoa as the hero ingredients: the copolymers bind selectively to damaged areas, jojoba softens and adds slip, and quinoa protein supports strength and resilience. Rub it into damp hair, using one to three pumps depending on hair length, then style as usual.

Who it suits

Anyone who blow-dries, straightens or curls their hair. Kevin.Murphy suits it to all hair types, and because it is weightless it layers easily onto damp hair after your wash and rinse.

What it will not do

HEATED.DEFENSE protects against heat styling; it does not repair damage that is already there, and the 232°C figure is a limit, so a lower tool temperature is still kinder to hair. It is not a styling product with hold, so you will need your usual styler on top.

Good to know

150ml. The fragrance is a warm, woody blend of honey and sandalwood with a touch of black pepper. The jojoba seed oil is certified organic. Kevin.Murphy states the product is paraben-free. Formulas can vary by region, so check the packaging.
