Anua Heartleaf 70 Soothing Collagen Mask is an ultra-thin hydrogel face mask for sensitive, stressed or dehydrated skin that needs calm and moisture. It is a gel-like sheet, not a cotton sheet mask, and you can wear it for a few hours or overnight.

How it works

Anua describes the mask as a slim, 1mm hydrogel sheet. The essence is built on 70% heartleaf water: Houttuynia cordata flower/leaf/stem water is the first ingredient. Anua says the low-molecular collagen it uses is 300Da. As you wear the mask, the hydrogel releases its essence and slowly turns transparent, so you can see when it has done its job. Hyaluronic acid, aloe leaf extract, allantoin and dipotassium glycyrrhizate help hydrate the skin and keep it comfortable. Menthyl lactate gives a light cooling feel.

Who it suits

Skin that feels tight, dry or reactive, skin that looks a little red after sun or a long day, and anyone who wants a calming mask the night before an event. It suits all skin types.

What it will not do

It will not treat rosacea, eczema or any skin condition, and the collagen does not rebuild the skin's own collagen. The plumper, calmer look is temporary hydration.

Good to know

Each mask is single use. The hydrogel has a top piece and a bottom piece: place the eye-area part first, then the mouth part. Cooling agents such as menthyl lactate can tingle on very sensitive skin.

1. Cleanse, then prepare the skin with toner and serum.
2. Apply the upper part of the mask around the eyes first, then the lower part around the mouth.
3. Leave on for 3-4 hours, until the mask becomes transparent.
4. Remove the mask and massage the remaining essence into the skin.
Tip from Anua: to use it as a sleeping mask, apply toner, serum and moisturiser, then the mask, and leave it on overnight.
