The VT Cosmetics Hydrop Reedle Shot 100 2-Step Hydrogel Mask is a single-use, hydration-focused mask for dry, dehydrated or dull-looking skin. It pairs a dose of Hydrop Reedle Shot 100hL with a cooling Aqua hydrogel sheet; VT gives the weight of one set as 34.5g.

How it works

VT says Step 1 prepares the skin with a concentrated hydration blend: HA-Nano Capsule (encapsulated hyaluronic acid), super-low-molecular hyaluronic acid, glyceryl glucoside and ectoin, plus CICA REEDLE, VT's silica-and-centella micro-particles, which it says help moisture absorb. The hydrogel sheet adds amino acids and more HA-Nano Capsule, feels cool straight away and, according to VT, lets moisture reach up to 20 layers of the stratum corneum, the skin's outermost layer.

Who it suits

Skin that feels tight, dry or tired; VT says the blend can hydrate even the driest skin. Unlike the original Reedle Shot 100 2-Step Mask, which targets pores and texture, this version is all about moisture.

What it will not do

It will not repair a damaged skin barrier, replace your moisturiser or sunscreen, or give lasting firmness. It is a cosmetic mask, not microneedling, and the plumping effect is temporary.

Good to know

VT recommends wearing the sheet for 20-40 minutes, or 2-3 hours for more intensive care. Place the lower half first, then the upper half. VT warns not to use it on wounds and to stop and seek advice if a rash, swelling or itching appears. Patch test first and introduce one new active at a time.

Pair it with

• PURITO Oat-in Calming Gel Cream 100ml – a light gel cream to seal in the essence after you remove the sheet.
• Dr.Althea 147 Barrier Cream 50ml – a richer cream for very dry skin on non-mask days.

1. Cleanse your face and apply toner.
2. Apply Step 1 (Hydrop Reedle Shot 100hL) to prepare the skin.
3. Apply the Step 2 hydrogel mask, placing the lower part first and then the upper part; adjust it for a snug fit within the first few minutes.
4. Leave on for 20-40 minutes, or 2-3 hours for more intensive care.
5. Remove the mask and gently massage the remaining essence into your skin.
6. Use the extra circular patches from the eye and mouth openings on areas that need extra care.
