VT Cosmetics Reedle Shot EX Hyaluronic Modeling Pack is a single-use, peel-off powder mask for dry and dehydrated skin that wants a quick moisture boost. You mix the 25g powder with water, spread it over the face and peel it away once it has set. VT Cosmetics describes the Hyaluronic version as hydrating and cooling.

How it works

The base is diatomaceous earth with glucose and algin. Mixed with water, it sets into a rubbery layer that sits close to the skin. The formula contains several forms of hyaluronic acid (sodium hyaluronate, hydrolysed hyaluronic acid and sodium acetylated hyaluronate), which hold water in the upper layers of the skin, plus aloe, milk exosomes, whey filtrate and centella asiatica. VT Cosmetics adds its Cica Reedle ingredient, which the brand describes as micro-sized spicules combined with centella that help ingredients absorb and gently exfoliate dead skin.

Who it suits

Dry, dehydrated or tired-feeling skin. VT Cosmetics states that the formula is fragrance-free. Suitable for men and women.

What it will not do

It is a peel-off mask, not a moisturiser: the extra softness is temporary and you still need your usual cream afterwards. It will not fill lines, firm the skin or change skin structure.

Good to know

One cup is one use. Mix quickly and apply a thicker layer at the edges so it peels off in one piece. Do not use on broken or irritated skin, and stop if redness or stinging lasts. The formula contains propolis extract and milk-derived ingredients, so patch test first if you react to these.

1. Open the cup's seal (VT Cosmetics suggests using scissors).
2. Add 6-7 spoonfuls of water using the spoon end of the included spatula.
3. Mix quickly and thoroughly with the other end of the spatula until smooth.
4. Spread evenly over clean, dry skin in this order: cheeks, chin, forehead, nose. Apply a thicker layer around the edges and avoid the eyes and lips.
5. Leave on for 15-20 minutes until set.
6. Peel off, then wipe away any residue with a toner pad (or rinse with water).
7. Finish with your usual skincare. Use 1-2 times a week.
