VT Cosmetics Reedle Shot 100 is a daily booster serum for people new to micro-spicule skincare who want smoother-feeling, more refined-looking skin. VT Cosmetics calls it the "Daily Booster" of its Reedle Shot line, used straight after cleansing.

How it works

According to VT Cosmetics, Reedle Shot uses spicule technology: tiny Cica Reedle™ particles (listed by VT as silica and Centella Asiatica extract) create microscopic channels that help the products applied afterwards absorb. VT says this exfoliates, softens and refines rough skin. The formula also contains sodium hyaluronate, propolis extract, niacinamide and adenosine. VT describes 100, 300 and 700 as density levels; 100 is the gentlest and the one VT says can be used daily.

Who it suits

VT Cosmetics says Reedle Shot 100 suits all skin types, including sensitive and blemish-prone skin, and that most first-timers start at 100. VT describes it as non-comedogenic.

What it will not do

It is not microneedling, an injectable or an in-clinic treatment, and it does not treat acne, scarring or any skin condition. Changes in texture build gradually and vary from person to person.

Good to know

A mild, brief tingling is normal according to VT and usually fades within about a minute; if stinging or redness persists, use it less often. VT suggests starting with 2–3 evenings a week. Do not use it on the same day as Reedle Shot 300 or 700. Patch test first and avoid broken or irritated skin. VT advises against use with LED masks or beauty devices, or straight after dermatological procedures. With strong actives such as retinol, VT suggests alternating nights. Wear SPF daily.

1. In the evening, after cleansing, apply an appropriate amount to bare skin and spread gently with your fingertips.
2. Massage lightly until absorbed; a mild, brief tingling is normal.
3. Finish with a moisturiser or your treatment serum.
4. VT suggests starting with 2–3 evenings a week and building up to daily use if your skin is comfortable.
5. Do not use on the same day as Reedle Shot 300 or 700, with LED masks or beauty devices, or on broken skin. Apply SPF the next morning.
