VT Cosmetics Garlic AC Reedle Shot Gel Cream is a lightweight daily gel cream for oily, combination and blemish-prone skin. VT Cosmetics describes it as soothing irritated, blemish-prone skin with garlic exosome technology boosted by its Cica Reedle ingredient, in a fast-absorbing, non-sticky texture.

How it works

Garlic (Allium sativum bulb) extract is the signature ingredient. VT Cosmetics says it uses nano-sized garlic exosomes alongside Cica Reedle, the brand's micro-sized spicules combined with centella, to help ingredients absorb. A gentle mix of salicylic acid, betaine salicylate and gluconolactone loosens dead skin and helps keep pores clear, while niacinamide, panthenol and pantothenic acid support oil balance and a smoother look. Centella asiatica actives, allantoin and dipotassium glycyrrhizate help keep skin comfortable, and glycerin and sodium hyaluronate add light hydration.

What it will not do

It is a cosmetic moisturiser, not a medicine: it does not treat acne or any skin condition, and it will not clear persistent or painful breakouts. It contains no sunscreen.

Good to know

It contains low levels of exfoliating acids, so introduce it gradually if you already use other acids or retinoids, adding one new active at a time, and wear sunscreen every day. Some people notice a light prickle from the Cica Reedle spicules; rinse off if it stings or burns. The formula contains tea tree leaf oil and propolis extract, so patch test first if your skin is reactive, and do not apply to broken skin.
