L'Oréal Professionnel Pro Longer Shampoo & Mask Duo

L'Oréal Professionnel Pro Longer Shampoo & Mask Duo pairs the Pro Longer Shampoo 300ml with the Pro Longer Mask 250ml, for long hair whose ends have become thin and fragile. These are the two steps L'Oréal tested together for its strength result.

How it works

L'Oréal Professionnel builds Pro Longer on its patented FILLER-A100 technology and an amino acid. The brand says FILLER-A100 penetrates the inner layer of the fibre to thicken and resurface thinned ends, while the amino acid fortifies the fibre. In L'Oréal's instrumental test, shampoo plus mask gave a 69% stronger hair fibre compared with a non-conditioning shampoo, and the brand says the range reduces breakage and split ends and gives long-lasting shine.

Who it suits

Long hair with thin, weak or split ends, and hair that breaks before it reaches the length you want. Men and women alike.

What it will not do

It does not make hair grow faster and will not mend ends that are already badly split: a trim is still needed. The shampoo is not sulfate-free: it contains sodium laureth sulfate. 'Thin ends' means the ends of the hair, not thinning hair on the scalp, so it is not a hair-loss treatment.

Good to know

Shampoo 300ml and mask 250ml. Both contain silicones (dimethicone and/or amodimethicone). L'Oréal suggests the mask once or twice a week; add a leave-in step if your ends need protection when you style with heat.

Shampoo:
1. Apply evenly to wet hair and lather.
2. Rinse thoroughly.

Mask:
1. After the shampoo, remove excess water with a towel.

3. Leave on for 3-5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
4. L'Oréal suggests the mask once or twice a week for best results.
