Medicube Red Succinic Acid Peeling Pad 70pads

Medicube Red Succinic Acid Peeling Pad is a jar of 70 exfoliating toner pads for oily and blemish-prone skin wanting smoother texture and clearer-looking pores. Medicube designs them for stressed, troubled skin; the pack lists 0.5% succinic acid, 0.5% panthenol and 2% niacinamide, plus salicylic acid (BHA).

How it works

Oil-soluble salicylic acid works inside the pore to loosen excess oil and dead skin cells; Medicube says it helps unclog pores and refine texture. Medicube adds succinic acid to purify the look of skin, niacinamide (vitamin B3) for radiance, and panthenol and allantoin for comfort. Medicube calls it a multi-level peel pad (pH 3.5–5.5) that exfoliates, evens the look of tone and texture and clears pore congestion.

Who it suits

Oily, combination and blemish-prone skin with congestion or rough texture. Dry and sensitive skin, which Medicube also lists, should start slowly. The pads also work on the neck, elbows and knees.

What it will not do

It is a cosmetic: it does not treat acne or any skin condition, and it will not remove scars or deep pigmentation. For persistent breakouts, see a dermatologist.

Good to know

Start a few times a week and build up only if skin stays comfortable. Avoid the eyes, lips and broken or irritated skin, and at first keep it out of routines with retinoids or other strong exfoliants. Wear sunscreen daily: acids and bergamot oil can raise sun sensitivity. Medicube says it was tested as non-comedogenic and low-irritating (Global Institute of Dermatological Sciences) and has no artificial colour or fragrance, yet it contains alcohol and essential oils (peppermint, bergamot, rosemary, cedarwood, lavandin), so patch test first.

1. Cleanse your face.
2. Take out one pad and close the lid promptly so the remaining pads don't dry out.
3. Gently wipe the pad across your face, neck and other desired areas such as elbows and knees, avoiding the eye area.
4. For areas that need extra care, leave the pad on for 1 minute.
5. Let the essence absorb, then moisturise and continue with your usual routine, finishing with sunscreen in the daytime.
